National Junior Honor Society Induction

National Junior Honor Society Induction

Principal Anthony Mungioli welcomed 100 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and their families to the district’s inaugural National Junior Honor Society Induction on Wednesday night. He said,  “You bring honor to your school and your home by exemplifying what it means to be a successful student, learner, and member of a community at the highest level…and you all set the tone for what  Westlake Middle School is all about and for what future greatness will come from our school and our community. I encourage you and your families to think about this and make the tone of this celebration, of the pillars of the NJHS, and all that is written into our Mount Pleasant vision statements, strategic planning, and our values.”

To be considered for membership, applicants must reach the five standards which include leadership, citizenship, character, service, and scholarship. The National Junior Honor Society recognizes students who exemplify leadership and citizenship, as well as provide educational opportunities.

Westlake Middle School teacher and NJHS Dianna Jativa advisor said, “Welcoming you into the National Junior Honor Society is just the beginning of many wonderful things to come for each of you. Some of you have just started your middle school career and others are off to high school in September. No matter where you are in your journey, please continue to make your school proud, your teachers proud, your parents proud, and most importantly yourself proud.”
