Students from all grade levels work closely with the local SPCA animal shelter helping to raise awareness about pet adoption and raise money and donations for the shelter. Students are introduced to jobs that involve working with animals and are also educated in animal rights awareness and ways to help animals in need. Students also are given various volunteer opportunities and also are exposed to guest speakers that work closely with animals.It is a great club for any students who love animals.

Students create in all media such as drawing, painting, sculpture, collage and explore contemporary art practices. Discussion and ideas are encouraged and creativity and imagination are nurtured and developed.

Students who enjoy jazz are invited to audition for the jazz band! This select group will be performing at the Winter and Spring Concerts. Rehearsals will take place on Wednesdays after school.

The goal of Math Club is to bring together students who are excited to solve interesting problems, but also build solutions to real world situations. Some projects we will work on this year include Newspaper Towers, Create Your Own Car, Build Your Own Bridge, and an Unsinkable Ship! We will be testing out all our creations and we will see who has the strongest bridge, whose ship can withstand the most weight, or whose car is the fastest! Math Club will meet twice a month on Tuesdays after school until 3:15 p.m. Come and join the fun!

This is a select singing group that rehearses once a week on Thursdays. The Meistersingers perform at the winter and spring concerts and the WMS Moving Up Ceremony, and any other public event as requested.

Science Olympiad is one of the premiere science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to nearly 7,000 teams in 50 states. Science Olympiad's ever-changing lineup of events in all STEM disciplines exposes students to practicing scientists and career choices. Our team at Westlake will compete against the other schools in lower Westchester and Rockland counties.
Excursion Dates: Belleayre Mountain- Saturday, January 21, 2017, Windham Mountain Snow Tubing, Friday, January 27, 2017 and Belleayre Mountain- Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Trips are open to middle and high school students.

Tech Crew consists of students who have embraced the electronic world and want to share their knowledge with peers, teachers and community members. Our mission is to help students and faculty achieve proficiency using technology including devices, software and apps. In addition, we offer members of our community one to one assistance with their personal devices so they can connect with their families and feel comfortable using technology.
