Students from all grade levels work closely with the local SPCA animal shelter helping to raise awareness about pet adoption and raise money and donations for the shelter. Students are introduced to jobs that involve working with animals and are also educated in animal rights awareness and ways to help animals in need. Students are also given various volunteer opportunities and are exposed to guest speakers that work closely with animals. It is a great club for any students who love animals.

Students create in all media such as drawing, painting, sculpture, collage and explore contemporary art practices. Discussion and ideas are encouraged and creativity and imagination are nurtured and developed.

Students who enjoy jazz and play the sax, trumpet, trombone, baritone, guitar or drum set are invited to audition for the jazz band! This select group will be performing at the Winter and Spring Concerts. Rehearsals will take place on Wednesdays after school.

Description: The goal of Math Club is to bring together students who are excited to solve interesting problems, but also build solutions to real world situations. Some projects we will work on this year include creating balloon towers, egg cars, basketball shooters, and earthquake resistant structures, and coding computer games! We will be testing out all our creations to see how they run and work in different situations! Math Club will meet twice a month on Tuesdays after school until 3:15 p.m. Come and join the fun!

This is a select singing group that rehearses once a week on Thursdays. The Meistersingers perform at the winter and spring concerts and the WMS Moving Up Ceremony, and any other public event as requested.

Science Olympiad is one of the premiere science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to nearly 7,000 teams in 50 states. Science Olympiad's ever-changing lineup of events in all STEM disciplines exposes students to practicing scientists and career choices. Our team at Westlake will compete against the other schools in lower Westchester and Rockland counties.

Students participate as elected grade level officers and homeroom representatives in various activities throughout the year. Activities include: Spirit Week festivities, fundraising for various charities, operating the school store and more.
Audition Dates: Thursday, September 28th OR Friday, September 29th, after school
Rehearsal Dates: There are three rehearsals the week of “Westlake’s Got Talent”: Monday, October 23rd, Tuesday, October 24th and Thursday, October 26th.

Students are encouraged to showcase their talent in this annual production performed for the school community to enjoy. The show, entitled “Westlake’s Got Talent,” will take place on October 27th at 7 PM. Auditions will take place at the end of September and there will be 2-3 rehearsals directly after school the week of the show.

Tech Crew consists of students who have embraced the electronic world and want to share their knowledge with peers, teachers and community members. Our mission is to help students and faculty achieve proficiency using technology including devices, software and apps. In addition, we offer members of our community one to one assistance with their personal devices so they can connect with their families and feel comfortable using technology.
